The state government has asked all block officials to submit the list of unrecognized schools by November 22.

Uttar Pradesh Government is mulling to impose a Rs 1 lakh fine on schools operating in the state without prior approval. The state government has asked all block officials to submit a list of unrecognized schools by November 22.  

Yogi government is planning to take strict action against fake and unrecognized schools running in Uttar Pradesh. The Directorate of Basic Education has issued clear instructions to all Basic Education officers and the officers have been entrusted with the task of identifying unregistered schools and ensuring strict action against them.

In the aggressive operation against unregistered schools, strict action will be taken against those schools found operating without proper recognition or continuing to operate despite the cancellation of recognition.
UP government has given clear instructions to Block Education Officers to visit their respective blocks and investigate and take decisive steps against the schools running without recognition.

One lakh fine

The state government directive underlines the imperative that no school can be established or operated without obtaining recognition, as mentioned in the Free and Compulsory Children's Education Act. Any violation of this rule will attract a heavy fine, in which the fine can reach up to Rs 1 lakh. If violation of rules continues even after the fine, offenders will have to pay a daily fine of up to Rs 10,000 until compliance is ensured.

List of schools will be released by November 22

All Block Education Officers have been asked to confirm that no unregistered school exists in their respective block. The list of schools requiring action should be submitted to the Director of Basic Education by 22 November.
