IIM Ranchi, NCST collaborate for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav event on campus

The event was graced by the presence of the Cheif guest of the day, Dr Diwakar Minz, Ex-Dean of Social Science, Head University Department of History Ranchi University.

 

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi partnered with the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST). The collaboration took place to conduct a program 'Contribution of Tribal Heroes in Indian Independence Struggle' as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav event. The event was held on October 17, at the CLC classroom, Suchana Bhavan.

The event was graced by the presence of the Cheif guest of the day, Dr Diwakar Minz, Ex-Dean of Social Science, Head University Department of History Ranchi University as well as other esteemed guests like  Ravishankar, Adviser in the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Director of IIM Ranchi, Professor Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Dr Rajkishore Hansda, National Co-Coordinator of Janjati Suraksha Manch, Professor Pradeep Kumar Bala, Dean (Academic Affairs & Development), Professor Renjith R, Chair, Birsa Munda Centre for Tribal Affairs and Captain Kumar Devashish, CEO and founder of Institute for Sustainable Development and Governance (ISDG) Research foundation.

Earlier, IIM Ranchi signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), the Government of Jharkhand, to support the state government in establishing 405 Adarsha Vidyalaya (Model Schools) across the state. The agreement will be in effect for the next three years.

According to the MoU, IIM Ranchi will impart leadership training to the headmasters of these identified model schools. The first phase of the training program, which will include the training of headmasters from 80 model schools, would be held at IIM Ranchi's campus and JEPC facilities. This MoU also consists of an impact assessment by IIM Ranchi to evaluate the effectiveness of the training program. JEPC roped in various institutes for this collaboration, among which IIM Ranchi has been identified as the partner institute.
