The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur saw its final placements this season with 5 students bagging offers of Rs 1 crore-plus. As many as 30 companies had participated on Day 1 which is 25% more than last year and included 76 profiles from software, analytics, core, finance and consulting.
According to a press release from the career development centre at IITKGP, there has been a 50% increase in the international offers. The number of Pre Placement Offers (PPOs) have increased to 7% and there is an almost three times increase in the public sector offers, added the release. The total number of offers towards the end of the first day had about 450 PPOs, an increasing trend compared to the last year.
The top three recruiters on Day 1 so far are Microsoft and Goldman Sachs with 24 and 14 respectively.
In the IITKGP placements of 2018-19, the institute saw as many as 1275 offers from 192 companies. 741 job offers were made to the BTech, Dual Degree and MSc (5yrs) students. the institute had bagged 23 international offers from Japan, Germany, Taiwan and the United States of America. The top recruiters included Google, Flipkart, JP Morgan, Apple, EXL Services, Quantiphi Analytics, Barclays GSC, OYO, etc.
