Mahindra University launches MA in Education Programme

Mahindra University has announced the launch of a two-year, full-time MA (Education) program, classes for which will begin in August 2023. Interested candidates that are eligible will be able to apply for the programme till June 5 on the official website- mahindrauniversity.edu.in.

Indira Mahindra School of Education at Mahindra University has launched applications for the Master of Arts (MA) in education. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply for the programme till June 5, 2023.

Announcing the launch of the MA Education program, Professor S. Srinivasa Rao, Dean, of Indira Mahindra School of Education, said ‘’As we move into an era of revolution in terms of expansion of education at all levels (elementary, secondary, higher, vocational and early childhood education), we need more and more well-trained professionals who could go beyond the teacher training programmes and are drawn from a wider pool of multi-disciplinary areas and subjects into Education programs. At Mahindra University, we welcome students who have completed their under-graduation in any subject (B.A/ B.Com/B.Sc/B.Tech/B.B.A/B.El.Ed/B.Ed) and have the desire to enter into Education/Development Sectors. Also, students who wish to pursue research careers in Educational Studies or consultancy services.”

Further, he said, “We want our students to challenge the way Education policies, processes and practices are understood currently in conventional institutions of education, which will then enable them to make meaningful contributions to the country and world at large”.

The program envisages training of students in critical research skills, theoretical knowledge, thematic and analytical exposition, and a clear linkage with field-based learnings, all of which are in-built into the curriculum by way of making students write a detailed Master’s dissertation. It fills in a void of preparing well-rounded, critical and well-informed future thinkers and leaders in the education sector. 

The faculty at Indira Mahindra School of Education are trained at and have taught Educational Studies in reputed Universities and research centres in India and abroad. They bring long years of engagement with various nationally and internationally well-known organisations and think tanks.
