Mahindra University Forms Strategic Alliance with Virginia Tech to Establish Interdisciplinary Research Center
The collaboration between Mahindra University and Virginia Tech, Virginia Tech India will enhance the interdisciplinary exploration in nanotechnology, biotechnology, AI, quantum computing, and frontier materials.
Mahindra University (MU) has joined hands with Virginia Tech and Virginia Tech India to establish the Interdisciplinary Institute for Transformative Technologies (I2T2). The academic collaboration aims to improve the research, adapt transformative technologies and harness global expertise to boost students' confidence to tackle global challenges.
Meanwhile, the collaboration further aims to serve as a platform for interdisciplinary exploration, converging emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, AI, quantum computing, and frontier materials. The department will also aim to provide tangible solutions to the ongoing global issues including climate change and social inequity while advancing the fundamental science.
"This partnership with Virginia Tech reflects our commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research and preparing the next generation of ethical and innovative leaders. The Center will empower students and faculty to create transformative solutions, positioning Mahindra University as a global hub for cutting-edge research and societal impact." Says Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor of Mahindra University while expressing his enthusiasm.
Collaboration for Cultural Exchange
The collaboration will also focus on joint and dual-degree master’s programs along with cultural exchanges. An MU Chair Professorship will be designated to support the Center’s growth and ensure its long-term success.
Meanwhile, Dr. Guru Ghosh, Vice President of Outreach and International Affairs at Virginia Tech highlighted the requirement of global collaboration saying "This collaboration epitomizes the spirit of global academic partnerships. By leveraging the strengths of Virginia Tech, Virginia Tech India, and Mahindra University, we are creating an environment that fosters innovation, cultural exchange, and impactful research that transcends borders."
