Now, learn basics of python in 2 weeks from IIT Kanpur

With an aim to teach students the basics of python, IIT Kanpur has launched a two-week certificate program in python programming. All candidates are eligible for the course and can apply on the official website of the institute.

The course is a joint initiative between IIT Kanpur and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Python is the most widely used programming language for data science and machine learning and one of the most popular languages overall. The course will first cover all the basic features of python and will gradually move towards more advanced parts of python programming.

No prior programming experience required

The course shows how python can be used to solve data science and machine learning problems from an industrial perspective. The course does not require any prior programming exposure and will be useful to anybody interested to learn to program and solve real-world programming problems.

Course fee: Academic (student/faculty): Rs 500 + GST; foreign participants: Rs 4,000 + GST and others Indian participants: Rs 1,000 + GST.

Tentative schedule

There will be three sessions every day. Session 1 will be from 10 am to 11:30 am, session 2 will be from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm and session 3 (tutorial and hands-on) will be from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The course will be co-organised by IIT, Kanpur, National Institute of Technology, NIT Warangal, National Institute of Technology, NIT Patna, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, MNIT, Jaipur, and Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, IIITDM, Jaipur.
