CSAS-2022 in three phases
Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh, speaking to reporters on the occasion, said that about 6 lakh 14 thousand students from across the country have included DU in their preferred University.
He informed that CSAS-2022 will be conducted in three phases in which first phase will be to apply to University of Delhi, second phase will be preference filling and third phase will be seat allotment-cum-admission.
While launching the CSAS-2022 portal, the Vice Chancellor said that the registration process has started from today. He told that it will be our endeavor that two more allotment rounds should be kept before the spot round so that any aspiring student does not face any problem. He called upon the applicants to fill as many choices as possible so that they do not face any problem in allotment of the colleges and subjects of their choice. He said that we have designed the policy in such a way that the hassles can be minimized, yet we have also made provision for mid-entry admissions so that the applicants who have been left out due to some reason can also get a chance.
ECA, Sports Quota trial after Oct 10
The Vice Chancellor said that the trials for ECA and sports quota students are likely to be held after October 10 and classes for the students will most likely start from November 1. In response to a question, he said that the university administration is completely sensitive to the issue of admissions of the reserve category, that is why a provision of 30 percent additional admissions has been kept in reserved category seats in the first round itself.
CUET (UG)-2022 application number mandatory for CSAS-2022
On this occasion, Dean Admission, University of Delhi, Prof. Haneet Gandhi gave detailed information about the admission process. She said that under the first phase, a one-time application fee of Rs 100 for SC, ST and PWBD category applicants for CSAS-2022 and Rs 250 for UR, OBC-NCL, EWS category will have to be paid which will be non-refundable. Candidates willing to take admission in Delhi University will have to apply through CSAS-2022 application form only. The application number of CUET (UG)-2022 will be mandatory to apply for CSAS-2022. The personal details such as name, photograph and signature etc. submitted by the applicant during CUET (UG)-2022 will be automatically integrated in CSAS-2022.
She said that candidates should be careful in submitting their personal details, categories/sub-categories/caste as these details once submitted cannot be changed. All communication from University of Delhi will be done only on the email id filled in the CSAS-2022 application form. Candidates will also have to submit the marks of all the subjects in which they have passed class XII. Candidates should be very careful while filling the marks of class XII because if there is a merit tie then these marks will be the basis for breaking it.
Second phase of CSAS after CUET 2022 Results
Prof. Gandhi informed that the second phase of CSAS will start after the declaration of result of CUET (UG)-2022. In this step, candidates will have to select their program and college combination and fill their preferences. The order of selection of program and college combination will also determine the order of preference for allotment of seats. Therefore, the candidate should carefully prioritize the program and college combinations in order of preference. Finally, candidates have to confirm the order of preference for the program and college combinations by clicking 'Submit' on or before the last day of preference filling phase. Change of program and college combination merit list will not be allowed after the deadline.
Once a seat is allotted in a particular round, the candidate has to 'accept' the seat allotted to him/her before the specified last date/time for the given allotment round. The provision for acceptance of a particular allotted seat will be valid only for the round in which the seat was allotted to the candidate. There shall be no action taken in case the allotted seat is non-accepted by the candidate. This will be treated as a decline in the provisionally allotted seat and the candidate will no longer be able to participate in the subsequent rounds of CSAS-2022. If a candidate is offered multiple seats in a particular round, he/she should accept only one seat. Once the candidate "accepts" the provisionally allotted seat, the concerned college will check the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate. After verification, the college will 'accept' or 'reject' the provisionally allotted seat of the candidate. Once the college is approved, the candidate has to pay the 'admission fee'. Successful remittance of admission fee will confirm the provisional admission of the candidate to the allotted college and program.
Depending on the availability of seats vacant due to rejection, cancellation and withdrawal, the university may declare multiple allotment rounds. The university will display the vacant seats on its admission website (admission.uod.ac.in) before each allotment round. All the candidates who have applied for CSAS-2022 will be eligible for all the allotment rounds except those applicants whose allotted seat/admission has been cancelled due to any reason. Candidates who opt for "Upgrade" will be considered in subsequent CSAS-2022 allotment rounds as per the availability of seats. University has also made such provision through which applicants can answer any query raised by the college during approval.
The upgraded candidate will have to 'accept' the upgraded seat and complete the admission process at the upgraded allotted seat. If a candidate does not perform any activity on the upgraded seat, it will be treated as cancelled by default and the candidate will be out of CSAS-2022. If a candidate does not upgrade, his/her previous seat admission will be retained. The candidate who has enrolled in the allotted seat and wants to continue should switch the 'Freeze' on through his/her dashboard. After selecting 'Freeze' the candidate will not be allowed to opt for "Upgradation".
DU Admission 2022: Tie Breaker Rule
The following rules have also been provided for breaking the tie in the event of a tie. High percentage of aggregate marks in the best 3 subjects of class XII under these; Higher percentage of aggregate marks in the best 4 subjects of class XII; The top 5 subjects of class XII include the higher percentage of aggregate marks and the age of the candidate.
Prof. Harneet Gandhi informed that after the completion of the regular CSAS-2022 round, if the seats remain vacant, the university may announce the spot round of admission.
Provision for mid-entry
Delhi University is also making provision for mid-entry for the candidates who have failed to apply for CSAS-2022 due to any reasons within the stipulated time. Such candidates can participate in CSAS-2022 by paying Rs 1000 as mid-entry fee. However, mid entry admission can be considered only if all those candidates who have already applied have been allotted seat and were allotted qualifying marks more than the minimum declared score. Mid-entry admission will not be allowed for performance-based programs like (BA (BA) Hons) Music, BSc Physical Education, Health Education & Sports), ECA and Sports Supernumerary quota.
