BITS Pilani has entered into a five-year Master Research Agreement (MRA) with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited (MBRDI) to advance technology research. This partnership will create a framework for collaborative research focused on developing intellectual property in cutting-edge technology solutions and fostering academic collaboration in higher education and project initiatives.
The collaboration will focus on opportunities in the mobility sector by exploring and developing breakthrough technologies. The scope includes joint R&D projects, academic and professional events, and facilitating exchanges of researchers and students. Additionally, this partnership allows both parties to share lab facilities, advise research students, secure co-funding, publish papers, and protect intellectual property.
Facilitating Streamlined Research Efforts
The agreement is designed to enhance the digital capabilities of the country's talent pool by fostering stronger industry-academia collaboration between the two organisations, streamlining research efforts. The research areas will include software development with a focus on data and AI, electric mobility, and transformative technologies such as generative AI. Several notable projects are already underway under the guidance of Prof. Poonam Goyal, Prof. Amit R Singh, and Prof. Navneet Goyal.
