SASTRA Deemed University this year will be allowing 30 per cent of its total BTech seats to students who are from Trichy and Thanjavur, in the wake of coronavirus situation in the country and to accommodate more local students. The Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy (SASTRA) is a highly-ranked higher education institution in Thirumalaisamudram village of Tamil Nadu. Until last year, SASTRA use to admit 20 per cent (10 per cent each from Trichy and Tanjavur) in the BTech courses, however, this year the additional 10 per cent shall be drawn based on merit from among the student applicants who have completed their Class 10th and Class 12th in the Thanjavur & Trichy school districts.
