Day 2 of JEE Main 2024 April Session Ends: Know Minimum Marks Needed for JEE Advanced
The qualifying percentile required to apply for JEE Advanced 2024 will be announced by NTA along with the JEE Main 2024 session 2 result. The cutoff percentile will be the minimum percentile that a candidate needs to obtain in JEE Mains to apply for JEE Advanced. Two days down and three more to go for JEE Main 2024 session 2 exam to end. NTA conducted the JEE Main 2024 April 5 exam today in two shifts for the BE/BTech course. The JEE Main 2024 April session exams are currently underway, and NTA will use the best scores of candidates from both the January and April sessions to prepare the JEE Main 2024 cutoff for JEE Advanced. The cutoff and AIRs will be announced with the NTA JEE Mains result, which is expected to be out before April 21.
IIT Madras has set the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2024, stating that only the top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Mains exam will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2024. This includes candidates from all categories in BE/BTech Paper of JEE (Main) 2024.

Minimum JEE Main Marks Needed for JEE Advanced 2024
Last year, the JEE Mains cutoff percentile for the JEE Advanced was: General - 90.7788642, EWS - 75.6229025, OBC - 73.6114227, SC - 51.9776027, ST - 37.2348772 and PwD - 0.0013527. This year, it is anticipated that the cutoff for JEE Mains for JEE Advanced may be: General - 91+, EWS - 76+, OBC - 74+, SC - 55+, ST - 40+ and PwD - 0.11+.
It is important to note that the JEE Main marks required to attain the desired percentile cutoff vary according to the category of the candidate. Therefore, candidates must aim to score as high as possible in the JEE Main exam to ensure their eligibility for the JEE Advanced exam.

*The information shared above is based on the JEE Main marks v/s percentile data from the previous year. However, it is important to note that this year's percentile v/s ranks in JEE Mains may be significantly impacted due to a substantial increase in the number of registrations received as compared to the previous year. This implies that a larger number of students may score higher marks and the percentile v/s marks data is likely to change significantly.
The JEE Advanced 2024 exam date has been announced, and it will be conducted by IIT Madras on May 26. The registration process for the exam will begin on April 21. Before the commencement of the JEE Advanced application process, NTA will declare the results for the JEE Mains 2024 exam. The result will indicate the qualifying status for JEE Advanced 2024. Those candidates who have been declared "qualified for JEE Advanced" will be able to register for JEE Advanced, using their JEE Main 2024 application number and password.
JEE Main 2024 session 2 exam dates are April 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12. The exam held on April 4 was rated moderate in both shifts by the students who took the exam. Even today, that is on April 5, the candidates who took the exam rated the paper in both shifts as moderate in difficulty level. NTA has received a record-breaking 12.57 lakh registrations for JEE Mains session 2. In session 1, the number of candidates who registered for JEE Mains was 12,31,874.
