DU Admissions 2023: 3 B.Tech course launched, 1 One seat in each course to single Girl Child
Admission to B.Tech programmes will be through JEE 2023
Delhi University has announced the admission policy for its various undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes today. The university has also announced admissions for three B.Tech programmes it will be launching from the upcoming academic year 2023-24.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh today announced open the process of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD (UG, PG, PhD) admissions in the University. He also announced that the university will be admitting students for Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering) courses.
B.Tech Admission 2023
From the academic session 2023-24, the University of Delhi has introduced three Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) Program, viz, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
The apex bodies of the University, Academic and Executive Council have already approved the syllabus of the first year of all three B.Tech programs.
The eligibility for the programs will be: Candidates must have passed Class XII from a single recognised board. Candidate must have secured 60% or more marks in an aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and must have passed English (Core or Elective) as a subject of study at the Senior School Certificate Examination level. The admission will be based on the ranks obtained in JEE Main.
While registering for admission to B.Tech. Programs in the University of Delhi, certain fields such as Name, Signature and Photograph will be auto-integrated from the JEE 2023. The candidates will have to submit their preferences for the three programs. Allocation will be based on the merit score and the preferences submitted by the candidates.
Registration-cum-Counselling Fee of Rs 1500
The University is likely to open its registration portal in the last week of June. There will be a Registration-cum-Counselling Fee of Rs. 1500/-.
Keeping in mind the Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) to extend the benefits of equity and access to quality education to the economically weaker students who would be admitted to the three B.Tech Programs, the University will offer Financial Support Scheme (FSS). Candidates whose parental income (Father and Mother taken together) is Rs. 04 lakhs or less will receive a 90 percent waiver of fees at the time of admission. Candidates whose parental income (Father and Mother taken together) is more than Rs. 04 lakhs and less than 08 lakhs will receive a 50 percent waiver of fees at the time of admission.
Financial Support Scheme
The Vice-Chancellor informed during the press conference that the University will also introduce Financial Support Scheme (FSS) to extend the benefits of equity and access to quality education to economically weaker students seeking admission to B.Tech programmes.
Candidates whose parents' income is Rs 4 lakh or less will be given 90 per cent fee waiver at the time of admission. Candidates whose parents' income is more than Rs.4 lakh and less than Rs.8 lakh will get 50 percent fee waiver at the time of admission. One seat each in each B.Tech program will be offered to a single girl child as a supernumerary seat. He informed that the university has also included a supernumerary quota for orphan students this year.
University of Delhi and affiliated colleges will admit two candidates (one male and one female) under this quota in each program of study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In response to a question, the Vice-Chancellor said that the new academic session of UoD would start from August 16.
