IIIT Allahabad, VIBHA tie up for conducting orientation camps
In BTech part-I classes, subject titled “India’s contribution to ethics, values, science, technology and spirituality” and in BTech part-II, the subject “Life skills through community service” will be taught to the students as part of the orientation camp.
Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vijanana Bharti (VIBHA). As part of the agreement, both institutes will jointly organise orientation camps for students admitted in IIIT Allahabad in 2022.
IIIT Allahabad acting director Prof RS Verma and VIBHA national secretary Praveen Ramdas signed the agreement on the behalf of their respective institutions. IIIT Allahabad has started the orientation camp course from academic year 2020 for its students whereas Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) is the organisation leading a science movement with Swadeshi spirit at all-India level.
MoU valid for 5 years
VIBHA will join IIIT Allahabad as a knowledge partner for conducting orientation camp course and this MoU will be legally and fully binding on them for a duration of five years, thereafter it may be suitably revised, IIIT Allahabad acting director Prof RS Verma said. In BTech part-I classes, subject titled “India’s contribution to ethics, values, science, technology and spirituality” and in BTech part-II, the subject “Life skills through community service” will be taught to the students as part of the orientation camp.
Neetesh Purohit, coordinator of IIIT Allahabad’s flexible academic programme, said that in part-I, expert lectures on a variety of topics are organised, and participation in several standard events of IIIT Allahabad and outside is also undertaken. A few selected non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and equivalent organisations which are operating in India with a larger objective of serving the society and the nation, are also assigned to each student for conducting community services, he said.
