IIT Delhi offers hands-on training on Semiconductor Device Technology: Fabrication and Characterization

IIT Delhi is all set to offer hands-on training on "Semiconductor Device Technology: Fabrication and Characterization" under the Continuing Education Programme (CEP). 

The training is for B. Tech/ M. Sc/ M. Tech/ PhD/ PDF/ Scientists’ and faculty of AICTE approved institutions colleges and National laboratories.

The registration fees for PhD/Masters/B.Tech is INR 15,000, for academicians/scientists, it is INR 25,000, and for industry participants, it is INR 35,000.

"This course will primarily cover the hands-on training on design and fabrication of microelectronics devices. It will also include the introduction to current and future applications of microelectronics devices in various sectors/areas. The purpose of this programme is to train the manpower aligned for the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM)," reads the official notification.

The program objective is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the device design and fabrication techniques, provide hands-on training on Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) device, fabrication and clean room protocol, and measurements and parameter extraction of the fabricated devices.

Program content includes introduction to micro/nano electronic device, concepts, design and fabrication, Si wafer processing and clean room protocol, Process flow and mask design, Gate dielectric: Oxidation process and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Lithography: Direct writing (Mask making) and Mask aligner, Etching: Wet and Dry, Metallization: Thermal and E-beam evaporation, sputtering, device characterization and analysis: Semiconductor parameter analyzer, probe station, and future perspectives of Microelectronics devices.
