The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi's alumnus of the 1967 batch Amarjit Bakshi, also the Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director of the Bakshi Group of Enterprises, has continued his unwavering commitment to his alma mater with INR 1 crore donation to the institute's Endowment Fund. This contribution is part of a continuous pledge he initiated in 2017, designed to establish a robust endowment that will foster pioneering research, expand educational opportunities, and empower the leaders of tomorrow.

Speaking about his contributions, Amarjit Bakshi said, "IIT Delhi has been the foundation of my professional journey, and I am honoured to contribute to its growth. This endowment is dedicated to enhancing the institute's ability to deliver world-class education, support pioneering research and nurture the leaders of tomorrow. My vision is for the institute to continue delivering transformative solutions for society and equipping future generations with exceptional opportunities for learning.”

Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director IIT Delhi, expressed sincere gratitude, stating, "Mr. Amarjit Bakshi's unwavering commitment to the Endowment Fund is a shining example of the deep bond he shares with his alma mater. His generous donations are playing a key role in strengthening the institute's academic and research capabilities, inspiring other alumni to follow his lead.”

During the occasion, Amarjit Bakshi proposed a visionary Peer Teaching Initiative to IIT Delhi. This program will enable senior students to lead interactive sessions on subjects they have mastered, sharing their expertise and insights with junior students. By promoting mentorship and collaborative learning, the initiative aims to enrich the overall educational experience and prepare students for future leadership roles.
