NSDC has entered into a three-way agreement with IIT Guwahati and Rooman Technologies to offer advanced certificate courses in emerging skills through a microcredit system to young individuals in India. Know details here
Under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, and Rooman Technologies in a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce India's first microcredit-based advanced certificate courses in new age skills for the youth. The MoUs were exchanged between Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, of NSDC and MD, NSDC International and Manish Kumar, CEO, of Rooman Technologies.
The collaboration will offer the transfer of earned credits, through these initiatives, to degree programs as per the guidelines of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This credit-based curriculum will cover futuristic domains such as VLSI, Data Science, AI-ML, Cyber Security, and Cloud Computing.
The goal of these collaborations is to develop a labour force that possesses the necessary skills and preparedness for the dynamic demands of the current job market, by providing access to one of India's leading institutions, IIT Guwahati, for young individuals.
Additionally, this partnership is set to boost India's semiconductor industry and enhance the skills of students in BTech/BE/BSc/BCA/MCA courses specifically for the VLSI field. By finishing the short VLSI course, students will be prepared to start their careers in positions such as VLSI design engineers, verification engineers, and physical design engineers.
Courses Through Online Training Sessions
All the courses will be conducted through online training sessions led by esteemed faculties from IIT Guwahati. This innovative program caters to tech enthusiasts, providing them with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary to thrive in the digital age.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International said, “ Our collaboration with Rooman Technologies is a progressive step in this endeavour. The initiative will develop a proficient talent pool that meets the demand for skilled professionals within the semiconductor industry while also offers tech enthusiasts with abundant opportunities to expedite their professional growth and development”.
