This primary healthcare centre at IIT-H was inaugurated by the Dr T Gurunath Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Continental Hospitals.

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) has joined hands with Continental Hospital for regular visits of consultants in various specialisations. IIT-H has now built a permanent space for its clinic (G+1 building) with the support from JICA, Japan.

This primary healthcare centre at IIT-H was inaugurated by the Dr T Gurunath Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Continental Hospitals. Dr Reddy attended the event as the chief guest. The inauguration took place in the presence of Chairman, BoG, IIT-H, Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, and visionary director of IIT-H, Professor BS Murty Garu.

The existing healthcare facility of IIT Hyderabad will be moved into its new premises early next month. IIT-H plans to set up primary diagnostic facility support of JCI & NABH accredited Continental Hospitals in its new facility.

Talking about the collaboration between IIT Hyderabad and Continental Hospitals, Professor B S Murty said, “We will not only collaborate with Continental Hospitals for setting up the basic diagnostic facilities at IITH but also would like this to be extended to teleconsulting from Continental experts in various specializations for better healthcare of the IITH fraternity.”

IIT-H developed cost-effective, portable ventilator for commercial use

Meanwhile, The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has developed a portable, cost-effective, and IoT-enabled ventilator powered by lithium-ion batteries. According to the official information released by the institute, the ventilator is now available for commercial use. Telangana and Puducherry Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan launched the smart ventilator named ‘Jeevan Lite’ on Thursday. Each unit costs INR 4 lakh against similar imported devices priced at INR 10-15 lakh per unit.
