IIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has started the application window for admission to the Chemical Engineering PhD program. Those interested can fill up the IIT Hyderabad PhD application form online at the official website: iith.ac.in/phdadmissions. The last date to fill out the IIT Hyderabad PhD admission form for Chemical Engineering is April 11, 2024. 

They must note that all communication related to the IIT Hyderabad PhD application and calls for interviews will be sent to the email address provided by candidates. Incorrect or incomplete email information may result in communications not reaching them. In such cases, the Department reserves the right to reject the incomplete application forms. 

Documents Required To Apply For IIT Hyderabad PhD Admission in Chemical Engineering

Candidates have to upload all specified documents online at the time of admission. They need to upload the below-mentioned documents: 

• Degree/Diploma certificates for all qualifying degrees from the competent authority of the Institute or University. In cases where results are awaited, they can upload semester mark/grade sheets. I
• Marksheets/Scorecards for national exams, if applicable (e.g., GATE)
• Fellowship/Sponsorship certificates, if applicable (e.g., DST-INSPIRE, UGC-NET)
• OBC/SC/ST Certificate, if applicable
• For External/Sponsored candidates: No-objection certificate from the present employer

IIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2024 

Applications meeting the eligibility criteria will be selected first. Further, all the shortlisted candidates will be called for a screening round interview, focusing primarily on fundamental knowledge in Chemical Engineering. For applicants with backgrounds different from Chemical Engineering, questions relevant to their field will be asked. 

Final Selection Round Interview for IIT Hyderabad PhD Admission

Candidates have to present their MTech/ME/MSc/BTech/BE/BSc/Industry project or equivalent. The presentation template will be shared in advance. Technical questions related to the project presentation, as well as about research interests, aptitude for the PhD program, and reasons for choosing IIT Hyderabad, may be asked. Evaluation criteria include presentation skills, analytical thinking, and conceptual understanding.

After the interviews, selected candidates will receive offer letters via email. They are required to accept/reject the offer within a specified time. Also, those on the waiting list will be considered if suitable positions become available.
