IIT Kanpur Hosts Arthashashtra 2023: Uniting Minds in Economics, Business, and Finance

IIT Kanpur's Economic Sciences Department hosted Arthashashtra-2023, a key event uniting industry leaders to explore critical topics: globalization, tech trends, work evolution, finance dynamics, leadership, banking security, and India's resilience in a volatile world.

Arthashashtra 2023: The Department of Economic Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) hosted Arthashashtra 2023, the annual conference focusing on economics, business, and finance. Esteemed industry speakers convened to delve into crucial themes like globalization, technological advancements, the evolving landscape of work, financial fluctuations, leadership dynamics, banking stability, and India's economic robustness in the face of worldwide unpredictability.

The conference comprised multiple sessions and panel discussions led by industry experts covering a diverse array of subjects. In one session, Mr. Rajan Sethuraman, CEO of Letentview Analytics, explored the AI and technology-driven economy, guided by Mr. Brahma Konda Reddy from the eMasters program at IIT Kanpur. Additionally, Mr. Nilesh Shah, Managing Director of Kotak Asset Management Co. Ltd., delved into the hurdles posed by deglobalization and the potential openings for Indian markets.

Mr. Kanishk, Director, Legal, India and South Asia, Uber; Mr. Pavit Singh Katoch from Inshorts; Ms. Swati Aggarwal, from SAM discussed the possibilities of moving towards technology-enabled innovation through key policies and regulations during a session facilitated by Mr. Shashank Mishra of eMasters program, IIT Kanpur.

The conference wrapped up with a final speech from Professor Viral Acharya, formerly of the Reserve Bank of India and currently at New York University, Stern. He focused on global banking stability following the Silicon Valley Bank collapse, underscoring the significance of academia-industry partnerships in tackling today's intricate economic obstacles.
