IIT Kanpur organises 3-day workshop to train UG, MSc, PhD students

IIT Kanpur conducted a 3-day workshop to train 50 selected final-year undergraduate (UG), MSc, and PhD students in the utilization of upcoming data from Aditya L1 Mission.

The event covered various in-class and hands-on sessions, and lectures, by eminent scientists and experts like Prof. Arnab Rai Choudhuri from IISc Bangalore, Prof. S. Krishna Prasad & Prof. Dipankar Banerjee from ARIES, and Prof. Piyali Chatterjee from the IIA, among others.

Moreover, recently, Prof. Keshav Pingali of IIT Kanpur received the ACM-IEEE CS Ken Kennedy Award for groundbreaking achievements in parallel and high-performance computing. He is a faculty at the Department of Computer Science, University of Texas, Austin, and is a W.A."Tex" Moncrief Chair of Grid and Distributed Computing. He has made wide-ranging contributions to many areas of parallel computing including programming languages, compilers and runtime systems for multicore, manycore and distributed computers. Prof. Pingali is also the CEO and Co-founder of Katana Graph, an AI-powered Graph Intelligence Platform providing faster, deeper, and more accurate insights on massive and complex data.

Dr Jitendra Singh launches IGMS 2.0 implemented by IIT Kanpur team

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, launched the Intelligent Grievance Monitoring System (IGMS) 2.0 Public Grievance portal of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). This is a major upgradation of Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) portal using AI/ML in terms of its capabilities. The IGMS 2.0 Dashboard has been developed by the team at IIT Kanpur comprising Professor Shalabh, Professor Nisheeth Srivastava and students.

Prof. S Ganesh, Officiating Director, IIT Kanpur said, "IIT Kanpur has always been engaged in its mission of advancing knowledge and technology for the betterment of society.
