IIT Kharagpur Placements 2024-25: The IIT Kharagpur Placement Drive 2024-25 officially kicked off on December 1, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey for the graduating batch of 2024-25. Held at the Nalanda Complex, Phase 1 of the placement season has already received impressive results, with over 800 offers (including pre-placement offers) recorded by Day 2.

A majority of the offers have been extended by top companies in high-demand fields such as software development, analytics, finance, banking, consulting, and core engineering. With strong participation from industry giants like Apple, Google, Microsoft, Capital One, and Databricks, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur continues to demonstrate its position as a leader in producing top-tier engineering talent.

IIT Kharagpur Secures 13 International Offers and 9 Students with 1 Crore+ Packages

As of Day 2, IIT Kharagpur students have secured 13 international offers, reflecting the global demand for its graduates. Notably, 9 students have received compensation packages exceeding Rs 1 crore, with the highest package standing at an astounding Rs 2.14 crore. These figures underline the global appeal of IIT Kharagpur graduates, who continue to attract the attention of top organizations worldwide.

Leading Companies Participate in IIT Kharagpur Placement Drive

Prominent recruiters such as Apple, Capital One, DE Shaw, Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, and Flipkart were among those who participated on Day 1 of the placement session. In total, 750 placement offers were made on Day 1, showcasing the strong industry interest in IIT Kharagpur’s engineering and technology talent pool.

According to an official statement from the university, companies such as American Express, Meesho, Mastercard, Optiver, and Samsara have extended numerous offers, indicating the broad range of opportunities available to students. This influx of prominent recruiters highlights the university’s reputation and commitment to shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

VK Tewari: IIT Kharagpur Continues to Lead in Placements

Speaking about the successful start to the placement season, VK Tewari, Director of IIT Kharagpur, said, "Even with the current competitive job market, IIT Kharagpur stands tall with more than 750 offers on Day 1, a testament to the academic excellence of the institution and the trust placed by leading organizations in our students." He further expressed his optimism for the upcoming phases, believing that this strong start would continue throughout the placement process.

Rajib Maity, Chairperson of the Career Development Centre (CDC) at IIT Kharagpur, emphasized the importance of strategic collaboration with industry leaders. "The successful placement process is the result of targeted outreach and fostering strong industry partnerships, ensuring that IIT Kharagpur students are well-prepared to meet the needs of the evolving job market," Maity said.

IIT Kharagpur 2024-25 Placement: Roles Across Multiple Sectors

The ongoing placement session offers a diverse range of roles for students, with many leading companies who previously recruited for internships in July 2024 also returning to hire graduates. The recruitment drive has attracted positions in the following key sectors:
