IIT Mandi Awards 636 Degrees at 12th Convocation

IIT Mandi Convocation 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi held its 12th Convocation awarding degrees to a total of 636 students, including 463 males and 173 females, across various disciplines. The graduating cohort included 53 PhD scholars, 31 MBA graduates, 102 MTech students, and 271 BTech candidates. A key highlight of this year’s IIT Mandi convocation is the notable increase in female graduates, rising from 23.36% in 2023 to an impressive 27.20% in 2024.

Awards at IIT Mandi Convocation 2024

In recognition of outstanding academic excellence, Shashwat Gupta, a BTech in Mechanical Engineering, was awarded the President of India Gold Medal for achieving the highest CGPA among undergraduate students.

Jain Hiya Sudhir, a BTech graduate in Bioengineering, was awarded the Director's Gold Medal for outstanding all-round performance among undergraduate students, while Devanshu Sajwan, an MSc graduate in Chemistry, received the Institute's Gold Medal for overall exceptional performance.

Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director, IIT Mandi, congratulated the graduating class and said, “This milestone signifies the culmination of years of hard work and the beginning of a journey filled with opportunities to make a meaningful impact.”

Chief Guest Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) said, “I congratulate the students graduating today from IIT Mandi. In a short span of time, IIT Mandi has carved a niche for itself in the ever-evolving landscape of professional education in India. I am confident that the graduating students will carry forward the legacy of Brand IIT, contributing significantly to both the aspirations of a Viksit Bharat and the global economy.
