IIT PhD Admission 2021: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi is now inviting application for PhD as well as MS in civil, mechanical and materials engineering. The programs will commence in February 2021. The candidates who will be selected for pursuing a PhD from the IIT Mandi will be informed regarding the same over email. Candidates can apply on or before November 8, 2020.
As per the notifications issued by the institute on its official website, the institute mentioned that there are PhD vacancies available in the School of Engineering in civil, mechanical and materials engineering. The eligibility criteria required to apply for the PhD positions are as follows:

PhD in mechanical engineering: BTech in mechanical, aerospace, or production engineering and MTech in machine design, applied mechanics, biomedical engineering or related areas. Candidates must have qualified GATE in a related areas at least once in an academic career. Furthermore, candidates from certain other streams of mechanical engineering can apply for PhD, according to the notification. Read the official notification here
- PhD in civil engineering: BTech in civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering and MTech in structural engineering, mechanical design or aerospace structure or related areas. Candidates must have qualified GATE in a related areas at least once in an academic career. In addition to that, candidates from certain other streams of civil engineering can apply for PhD, according to the notification. Read the official notification here
- PhD in materials engineering: BTech in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering or related areas and MTech in Mechanical, Materials Engineering or related areas. Candidates must have qualified GATE or NET in a related areas at least once in an academic career. Also, candidates from certain other streams can also apply for PhD, according to the notification.
