Most of the premiere engineering institutions have started reopening campuses for offline classes amid the declining COVID-19 cases. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna has reopened the campus for offline operations. The institute has started with offline mid-semester examinations and it will conduct offline classes for second-year B-Tech and first-year MSc students.

The institute took to Twitter to announce the same. It wrote, “In the process of resuming offline operations, IIT Patna has begun with in-person mid-semester examinations. At present, offline classes for second-year B-Tech and first-year M.Sc students will be conducted. #IITPatna #offlinemode”

It further wrote, “And gradually the rest of the classes will be resumed to in-person mode. While Ph.D. students have been operating from departmental laboratories on campus since October 2021, this is after a long hiatus that the classrooms are seen to be adorned by undergraduate students.” “These in-person examinations seem to be the silver lining amidst the hopeless gloom brought forth by the covid-19 pandemic,” it added.

Meanwhile, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna has started calling students for offline classes. Classes of first-year BTech students began in physical mode from February 21 and classes of other courses will begin from March 21.
