IIT Placements: At 1250, IIT Delhi students get highest-ever job offers
The institute witnesses over 45 per cent increase in the number of job offers made to students compared to the same period last year.
The students of IIT Delhi bagged a record number of offers up to December 15 of the placement season 2021. They have received more than 1,250 offers, which is the highest-ever number of offers received.
IIT Delhi receives highest PPOs in last 5 years
While the quantity of offers and hence number of unique selections is at a record high, there has been over 45 per cent increase in the number of offers received by the students during this period over last year. Even pre-placement offers (PPOs) received this year were highest in the last five years. Around 180 PPOs have been received as of now and seven students have opted for deferred placements facility of the institute.
What is deferred placements facility?
Deferred placements facility is available to those students who wish to set up a start-up post their graduation. The students choosing the deferred placement option can avail of placement services once within twice years after availing of this option i.e. up to 2023-24.
The quality of jobs offered in terms of compensation offered has also increased. The average compensation offered on campus this year as indicated by recruiters has shown over 20 per cent increase. Around 80 per cent of the students who showed interest in availing of placement facilities in this phase have been recruited up to now with selections on over 350 job profiles from over 200 companies.
Top five recruiters on the campus in terms of number of offers included EXL Analytics, Graviton Research Capital LLP, HCL Technologies, Jaguar Land Rover India Limited, Microsoft. Microsoft gave the highest number of offers on the campus (around 60), while Rakuten Mobile, Japan gave the highest number of international offers.
IIT Delhi receives 40 international offers
As many as 40 international offers were received by the students across geographies spanning Hong Kong, Japan, Middle East, Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan and the US. This includes nine international pre-placement offers as well. Last year (2020-21), students bagged 22 international offers (including six PPOs at international locations).
