Directing the superintendent of police (SP) of Paschim Medinipur to submit a report on the investigation being done in the matter, the court also asked him to depute a senior officer to oversee the probe into the death of Ahmed. The court also ordered a viscera test of the preserved body samples of the deceased.
Next hearing on November 10
The investigating officer of the case has been directed to be present in the court during the next hearing on November 10. Faizan’s mother had also written a letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan alleging that his son did not commit suicide, rather he was murdered.
A copy of the letter was also sent to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who had earlier requested his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee to carry out a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of Ahmed, who belongs to Tinsukia in Assam.
