The ‘on-job training programme’ is being organised by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur. The programme will continue till January 7.

The Department of Electrical Engineering of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur is organising ‘On Job Training Programme’ for students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Lambloo near Hamirpur. The programme began on January 2 and will continue till January 7. 

The aim is to help students acquire new competencies and skills needed for a job in a real working environment. As many as 19 students of ITI Lambloo attended the training programme on Day 1. Dr RK Jarial of Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT Hamirpur, briefed students about the main points of electrical engineering. Students learned about basic electrical engineering power system, measurement, control, micro processor, solar power system, electrical charging, power transformer diagnostics, high voltage lobe, etc. 

NIT Hamirpur is an institute of Engineering and Technology. Located in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, NITH was established by a joint collaboration of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh.  NIT Hamirpur was initially set up as Regional Engineering College (REC) in 1986, with only two departments - Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. It was in 2002, REC was given the status of the deemed university and upgraded to NIT Hamirpur. At present, the institute runs a variety of UG, PG and doctoral courses across streams such as engineering, architecture, sciences, humanities & social sciences and management.
