JEE Advanced 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has released the revised eligibility criteria for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. As per the latest update, candidates can now attempt the JEE Advanced 2025 up to three times in three consecutive years. Earlier, the number of attempts in JEE Advanced was limited to twice in two consecutive years.

Also, as per the JEE Advanced age requirement, applicants should be born on or after October 1, 2000. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, a five-year age relaxation applies, allowing those born on or after October 1, 1995, to be eligible. The other eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2025 remain unchanged. Candidates must rank among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (across all categories) in the BE/BTech Paper I of JEE Main 2025. However, the notification regarding the increased number of attempts mentions that the total number of eligible candidates may slightly exceed 2.5 lakh due to tied ranks or scores within any category.

JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must have first taken their Class 12 (or equivalent) exams in 2023, 2024, or 2025, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Those who initially appeared for Class 12 exams in 2022 or earlier are ineligible for JEE Advanced 2025, regardless of subjects taken.

However, if a Class 12 examination board released results for the academic year 2021-22 on or after September 21, 2022, those from that board who took their Class 12 exams in 2022 are also eligible for JEE Advanced 2025, provided they meet all other eligibility criteria. Candidates whose boards released results before September 21, 2022, but had results withheld for any reason are not eligible for JEE Advanced 2025.
