JoSAA 2023 registration date has been announced. As per the official schedule, the JoSAA 2023 registration and the choice-filling process will begin on June 19 at 10 am. The last date to register is June 28, 2023. The authorities will release the JoSAA counselling 2023 seat allotment Round 1 result on June 30, 2023. There will be 6 rounds of seat allotment. 

The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are:

 IIT Hyderabad zone boasts of having the highest number of candidates qualifying the national level entrance test along with having the biggest contribution in the top 500 candidates. 

The number of candidates qualifying for admission to IITs has increased. Last year, 40,712 out of 1,55,538 candidates had qualified. A year before that in 2021, it was 41,862 out of 1,41,699 candidates. This year, a total of 43,773 out of 1,80,372 candidates cleared the entrance test for admission to undergraduate programmes in 23-IITs across India.

With 24.26 per cent this year, the passing percentage sees a dip from last year’s 26.17 per cent.

The qualifying cut-off score for the Common Rank List (CRL) was recorded at 23.89 per cent in JEE-Advanced 2023, a significant jump from last year’s CRL cut-off of 15.28 per cent, which was also the lowest since 2012.

A total of six students who secured 100 percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 have emerged as toppers of JEE Advanced 2023. Starting from All India Rank (AIR) 1, Vavilala Chidvilas Reddy from Telangana. AIR 2, Ramesh Surya Theja also from Telangana, AIR 3 Rishi Kalra from Uttar Pradesh and AIR 4 Raghav Goyal from Haryana followed suit and qualified JEE with flying colours in both Main and Advanced.

A maximum of 10,432 candidates from the Hyderabad zone qualified the exam, followed by IIT-Delhi zone (9290), IIT-Bombay (7957), IIT-Kharagpur (4618), IIT-Kanpur (4582), IIT-Guwahati (4499), and IIT-Guwahati (2395).

Malay Kedia has secured All India Rank (AIR 8) in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Advanced 2023), the result was declared today. Malay has secured 324 marks in JEE Advanced 2023. 

Nayakanti Naga Bhavya Shree has achieved 56th rank in JEE Advanced Exam 2023 across the country. Nayakanti scored 298 marks out of 360 marks. Nayakanti Naga Bhavya is from Sri Hyderabad IIT Zone.

• JEE Advanced 2023 AIR 1 scored 100 percentile in JEE Main 2023 exam too
• This year, there is less percentage of negative markings. Additionally, there were more questions without penalty which gave confidence to students to attempt.

• According to the report, more than 1 lakh 90 thousand students had registered for the JEE-Advanced 2023 exam compared to the previous 11 years. This was the highest registration in the last 11 years.

This year Vavilala Chidvilas Reddy from the Hyderabad zone emerged as the top performer, securing the coveted AIR 1 with an impressive score of 341 out of 360 marks. Female topper of the same examination also hails from the Hyderabad zone. Nayakanti Naga Bhavya Sree achieved this distinction by scoring 298 out of 360 marks, making her the highest-scoring female candidate this year.

Candidates who have qualified for AAT, can now register for AAT from the official website, jeeadv.ac.in.

Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the JEE Advanced 2023 online portal after the results are declared.

• Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15% of seats in every course
• Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5% of seats in every course

A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. The candidates who have attended the JEE Advanced first time this year, can again attempt it in 2024.

This year the aggregate marks for JEE Advanced 2023 were as follows in paper 1 and paper 2:

• Maximum Aggregate Marks: 360 (180 in each of the two papers).
• Maximum Physics Marks: 120 (60 in each of Papers 1 and 2).
• Maximum Chemistry Marks:120 (60 in each of Papers 1 and 2).
• Maximum Mathematics Marks: 120 (60 for each of the two papers).

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to over 100 institutes including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Candidates who qualify JEE Advanced must register for JoSAA 2023 to participate in the counselling and admission process of the IITs. The passing percentage for JEE Advanced 2023 is as follows. The candidates will need the below percentage marks in the exam to get a place in the rank list for JoSAA counselling and admission to IITs.

This year, a total of 1,89,744 candidates registered for the JEE Advanced examination, out of which 1,80,226 candidates appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. JEE Advanced was held on June 4, 2023. The official answer keys were released on June 11 and the challenges were invited till June 12. The final answer key will be out with the result tomorrow.

JEE Advanced 2023 result is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the exam. The marks are calculated based on the JEE Advanced marking scheme.

Marks calculation subject-wise: The marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE Advanced 2023 will equal the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 1 plus the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 2. 

Aggregate marks calculation: The aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in JEE (Advanced) 2023 will be the sum of the marks awarded to the candidate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Marks obtained in Chemistry and Mathematics will be calculated in the same way.
