The petition, filed by the student’s father, stated that when the candidate downloaded his answer sheet on April 20, 2023, at 7:03 AM stated he has attempted all questions. However, the same answer key, when downloaded at 1:15 PM on the same day, stated he had not attempted a single question.

Gujarat High Court has directed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati to accept the application of a student for the JEE Advanced 2023 exam. The student has been impacted as his JEE Main answer sheet showed that he had not attempted any questions due to a technical glitch.

Upon hearing the matter, the single judge bench of Justice Sangeeta K Vishen stated that the JEE Main result placed on record is difficult to believe. "Considering the fact that the sheet downloaded from the link at page 7, the student has attempted all the questions. Whereas, the sheet at page 52, indicates that the student has not attempted a single question. Therefore, both response sheets, given an extreme indication which, is difficult to believe," stated the bench, TimesNow reported.

The petition, filed by the student’s father, stated that when the candidate downloaded his answer sheet on April 20, 2023, at 7:03 AM stated he has attempted all questions. However, the same answer key, when downloaded at 1:15 PM on the same day, stated he had not attempted a single question.

The advocate appearing for the student shared that this was due to a technical glitch on NTA's part which impacted many students. However, the counsel appearing on behalf of NTA stated that as per the official link the student had not attempted any question. As far as the complaints of Page 7 and Page 52 are concerned, NTA claims those were not through the official links.

In the meantime, Gujarat HC has ordered for CCTV footage from the candidate's examination centre to prove he attempted the exam and IIT Guwahati has been asked to accept his candidature of the JEE Advanced 2023 exam on June 4, 2023.
