JoSAA 2024 Registration on June 10: Know who can participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Process

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority released the JoSAA 2024 counselling schedule at josaa.nic.in. The JoSAA 2024 registration starts today (June 10, 2024). Candidates can scroll down to find out who can participate in the joint seat allocation process.

JoSAA 2024 Counselling: The schedule of the JoSAA 2024 counselling was released on the official website at josaa.nic.in. The JoSAA 2024 registration starts TODAY (June 10, 2024). The JEE Advanced 2024 result was released on June 9, 2024. The last date for JoSAA 2024 choice filling and registration is June 18, 2024. The JoSAA 2024 seat allocation (Round 1) will start on June 20, 2024. Candidates can scroll down to know who can participate in the joint seat allocation process.

Who can participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Process?

As per the business rule released on the official website, each and every candidate who satisfies one or more of the below-mentioned criteria is eligible for participation in joint seat allocation:

• A candidate qualified in JEE Advanced 2024 for academic programs excluding the preparatory courses at IITs and also satisfies the "Performance in Class XII) or equivalent Examination" criteria.
• A candidate qualified in JEE Advanced 2024 for preparatory courses at IITs and satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) Examination" criteria.
• A candidate secured a rank in the JEE Main 2024 B.E/B.Tech paper for B.E/B.Tech programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs and satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) Examination” criteria.
• A candidate secured a rank in the JEE Main 2024 B.Arch paper for B.Arch programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs and satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) Examination” criteria.
• A candidate secured a rank in JEE Main 2024 B.Plan. Paper for the B.Plan program at NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs and also satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) Examination” criteria.

The business rule further states that it is applicable to those candidates who have applied for revaluation, retotalling, or reappearance to improve their performance in their class XII or equivalent examination. However, these will only apply if the candidate completes the mandatory formality of registration and choice filling.

The total intake i.e. number of seats for an academic program is distributed into various Program-Sections. These are OPEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, OPEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, and STPwD. The category tags of candidates who are eligible for various Program Sections are mentioned below:

Note: Candidates with category tag “Foreign” are eligible for supernumerary seats in IITs without any other category tags .
