In order to impart skills and increase the employment rate among youth,  Maruti Suzuki India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Haryana Government.

Maruti Suzuki Training Academy has launched a three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Tool and Die Design at its Centre of Excellence at Government Polytechnic, Manesar. In order to impart skills and increase the employment rate among youth,  Maruti Suzuki India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Haryana Government. The programme has been introduced to strengthen Maruti’s commitment to making youth employable through skill development. The course will be conducted in collaboration with the Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE) and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Speaking about the newly launched programme, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Mr Kenichi Ayukawa stated that Maruti Suzuki preparing a talent pool in automobile manufacturing. This diploma course is another initiative to fulfil Maruti’s vision.

The duration of this specialised diploma course is three years comprising six semesters. Total of 26 subjects with minor and major projects will be imparted based on HSBTE guidelines. The fee for the course on per year (two-semester) basis is Rs 4,500. MSIL will make a one-time capital investment of ₹ 80 lakhs towards procurement, installation, and commissioning of machinery required for the course. MSIL and its vendor partners will be benefitted by getting skilled manpower for Tool & Die function. After completion of this course, students will be equipped with specialized skill set like die design, die fitting and maintenance related skills.

Maruti Suzuki established and inaugurated ‘Centre of Excellence’ at Government Polytechnic Manesar on December 27 2018. The company is running a customized part-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with HSBTE for MSIL associates.
