Now, 20% admissions at COEP through JEE Main
The amendment will be applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
As per a report published in Punekae News, College of Engineering Pune (COEP) will do 20 per cent admissions through the national-level Joint Entrance Examination (Main), popularly known as JEE Main, as per the guidelines issued by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra.
JEE Main is the gateway to BTech admission in many colleges beside National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and government funded technical institutes (GFTIs). Many states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and others offer admission in BTech courses through JEE Main. The exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
The decision is likely to increase in cutoff percentile for admissions through Maharashtra Health And Technical Common Entrance Test (MH-CET). Most students who are aspiring to get admission in COEP Pune are not aware of the information even though the government resolution (GR) was issued on September 5, 2022 itself.
Results of JEE Main and MH-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test ) have been declared already and Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds will start soon. It is also said that this amendment will be applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
COEP now a public university
CoEP is no longer affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). Asia's third-oldest engineering institute, CoEP is known as CoEP Technological University. COEP has been granted the status of a public university. Now, students enrolled at CoEP Technological University will receive their degree certificates whenever they pass out of CoEP University from the 2022-23 academic year .
