An official notification informed that NM College admissions 2023 for all four-year undergraduate programmes will be based on equal weightage to CUET scores and Class XII board exam scores.

The deadline to apply for CUET 2023 Registrations is March 30

CUET 2023: Two autonomous colleges in Mumbai, NM and Mithibai, and Somaiya Vidyavihar University (SVU) have decided to conduct admission through University Grants Commission's (UGC) Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores. Last year, N M and Mithibai, under the SVKM group of institutions, admitted students through their private entrance tests. Admissions to all self-financed courses were entirely based on the test scores.

An official notification informed that NM College admissions 2023 for all four-year undergraduate programmes will be based on equal weightage to CUET scores and Class XII board exam scores. According to TOI report, Principal Parag Ajgaonkar said the National Education Policy recommends using CUET scores for admissions, though it is not mandatory now. He further added that one etrance exa for all courses would be convenient for the students.

Last date for CUET 2023 registration is March 30

He added, equal weightage is given this year to recognize efforts of students in both the exams. Students keen on securing admission will have to register for CUET, on https://cuet.samarth.ac.in, before March 30.

The same notification will be applicable to Mithibai too. Both colleges have uploaded the admission notices on the website. SVU also will be admitting students for its undergraduate and postgraduate courses using CUET scores from this year. But these will be applicable only to unaided courses under SVU and not to the aided sections under Mumbai University, clarified SVU vice-chancellor Rajasekharan Pillai. The number of institutions participating in CUET increased this year to 100-plus.

Meanwhile, colleges such as St Xavier's and Jai Hind, have decided to their own entrance tests following the past trends. For Jai Hind College admissions 2023 equal weightage will be given to board exams and their entrance test scores. Weightage for St Xavier's Admissions 2023 is yet to be decided.
