This year's convocation holds a distinct feature: each of the four privileged colleges will host individual degree distribution functions on the BHU campus.

BHU's 103rd Convocation, set to be held on December 16, 2023, at the esteemed Swatantrata Bhavan, will mark the conferral of more than 14,600 degrees to its graduates. Principal Scientific Advisor Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood will grace the ceremony as the chief guest.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain highlighted that a total of 539 medals will commend students' accomplishments across various institutes and faculties, with 31 medals being conferred during the main event.

Expressing the significance of the convocation, Prof. Jain emphasized its importance as a memorable milestone for every university student, fostering the unique bond between BHU and its students. He underscored the efforts to ensure a flawless ceremony, aiming for graduates to cherish exceptional memories. Additionally, he encouraged students to engage with BHU's alumni portal, contributing to the institution's continued progress.

Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, is set to deliver the convocation address. Prof. Jain expressed anticipation for the rare opportunity to hear from such an esteemed scientist and academician.

Prof. Sood, also serving as the Chairperson of the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology, & Innovation Advisory Council and a National Science Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, boasts numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri, in recognition of his substantial contributions to academics and scientific research.

In this convocation, 7693 undergraduate, 5760 postgraduate, 986 PhD, 29 M.Phil, and 3 D.Litt degrees will be conferred, celebrating the achievements of a diverse array of students.
