Career development Center launched for DU colleges

MoU signed with 20 colleges in collaboration with the University of Delhi and Samarth Bharat to make students employable.
The Career Development Center (CDC) under the joint aegis of the University of Delhi and Samarth Bharat was inaugurated at the University of Delhi. On this occasion, MoUs were also signed between the University of Delhi, Samarth Bharat, the School of Open Learning (SOL) of the University and 20 colleges affiliated with the University.
Presiding over the program on this occasion, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, Prof. Yogesh Singh said that this is just the beginning for the students in higher education institutions, to get acquainted with the different types of skills required. He said that innovation and entrepreneurship can be accelerated only by working on originality, creativity and imagination in higher education; And these centres will play an important role in creating such an environment in the university. The Vice-Chancellor said that in the National Education Policy 2020, provision has been made for skills and entrepreneurship in undergraduate courses.
He said that the university has also set up a Section-8 company named Udyamodaya Foundation, which will set up business incubators in the university and various colleges.
MOU signed with Aryabhatta College, Atmaram Sanatan Dharma College, Bharati College, Daulat Ram College, Deendayal Upadhyay College, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Deshbandhu College, Dayal Singh College (Evening), Dayal Singh College (Morning), Hansraj College, Kirori Mal College, Laxmibai College, Maharaj Agrasen College, PGDAV College (Evening), PGDAV College, School of Open Learning, Bhagat Singh College, Sri Aurobindo College, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College and Zakir Hussain Delhi College are among the 20 colleges with which MoUs were signed for the establishment of Career Development Center (CDC) under the collective aegis of the University of Delhi and Samarth Bharat.
Prof. Yogesh Singh said that the per capita income of the country is one lakh fifty thousand rupees per year whereas to become a developed nation, we need a per capita income of 13 thousand dollars per year. This means we have to increase it 6 times to become a developed nation. For this, we have to set targets, so that by 2047, we can achieve 6 times growth in every field to make the country a developed nation. He said that UPI has done such a great job in digitalization that it has not been done in any other country in the world. Thanking the Government of India for this, he said that we are going on the right path in the right direction and we have to work more in this direction.
The Vice-Chancellor said that to achieve this goal, we have to prepare young minds in this direction, and for this, the universities and teachers can play an important role. He said that the participation of many eminent entrepreneurs in this program would inspire the youth and would yield good results.
On this occasion, Samarth Bharat Patron Bharat Bhushan gave detailed information about Samarth Bharat and Career Development Center (CDC). He told that at present 19 centres are being run by the Samarth Bharat team in Delhi, in which 1500 people are taking the training. Most of the people trained at these centres are earning Rs 15 to 50 thousand per month. He said that the mindset has to be changed if the country has to be made self-reliant. Giving information about the Career Development Center, he said that first of all, mentorship programs will be run these. Online interaction, entrepreneurship, startup ecosystem development program etc. will be run.
Apart from these, there will be programs of industry visits with the help of FICCI and programs ranging from preparation of project reports to interaction with bankers and meeting investors will also be included in this. On this occasion, during the program, various successful entrepreneurs of the country also shared their views.
