DU Admissions 2023: Allocation-cum-admission schedule for UG admission Released, Check Details

Delhi University has announced that candidates who have not yet registered on the CSAS portal will also be able to register

Delhi University has released the allocation-cum-admission schedule for UG admission of all its colleges for the academic session 2023-24. Under the second phase of the Common Seat Allocation System (UG), candidates who have not yet registered on the CSAS portal will also get a chance to register. For this, the university has decided to keep both phases open till Monday, July 24.

Following the declaration of the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG by the National Testing Agency (NTA), Delhi University has started the Common Seat Allocation System (UG)-2023 (CSAS (UG)) Phase II from Monday, July 17. The candidates who have successfully completed the first phase of UG Admission, in this second phase they will be required to visit their dashboard (https://ugadmission.gov.in) to choose their preferred program and college combination as per the eligibility criteria. uod.ac.in).

Giving major relief to candidates who have not yet registered themselves on the CSAS portal. They are also being given a chance to register. The University has decided to keep both phases open till 04:59 PM on Monday, 24th July. Both phases will close at 04:59 PM on July 24 and the preferences saved/submitted by the candidates will be automatically locked on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 05:00 PM by the fixed deadline.

Additional seat allotment in the first round

Additional seats can be allotted up to 20% in UR, OBC-NCL and EWS categories and 30% in SC, ST and PWBD categories in all colleges for all programs in the first round of allotment only. However, in colleges where the withdrawal was less than 5% of the admission in the previous academic session, an additional allocation of 10% for UR/OBC (NCL)/EWS and 15% for SC/ST/PWD categories may be made. The University may decide on policies in the larger interest of the students, if necessary, to fill the seats in an optimal manner. The university may also announce more rounds of admissions depending on the availability of vacant seats. The academic session for undergraduate programs for Semesters I, III, V and VII will commence on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Correction window for correction in the first phase

A correction window is also provided for the candidates who have completed their first step and want to edit/modify some fields. Under this, candidates will get the facility to update their profile only once. OBC (NCL), EWS, SC, ST, Minorities and PWBD candidates who wish to re-upload their updated documents/certificates can do so in this correction window. But in this correction window candidates will not be allowed to edit/modify their name, photograph, signature, registered email id, mobile number, category/sub-category/caste/additional quota.

Candidates against ECA and Sports Supernumerary Quota will also not be able to apply under this window. However, they can re-upload their certificates. Only the documents/certificates uploaded on the CSAS portal will be considered for admission purposes. This correction window will remain open till 04:59 PM on Thursday, 20 July 2023.

Only subjects passed in class 12th will be considered

In the second step, candidates will have to link the subjects studied by them in class XII with the subjects in which they have appeared in CUET-2023. Only those subjects in which the candidate has passed the Class XII Board Exam will be considered. If the subject studied in class XII was not a part of CUET, then a subject similar to or close to the subject studied in class XII will be considered.

It will be the responsibility of the candidate himself to provide the correct subject mapping. The University of Delhi will consider the subject-wise “Normalized Scores” provided by the NTA for computing the Program-Group Merit Score for admission. Candidates will be able to view their programme-specific CUET score based on the normalized score for the programs they are eligible. These programme-specific CUET scores will be automatically calculated and displayed on the candidates' dashboards.

This is how to fill in preferences Candidates select their preferences in the “Preference Selection” section and be able to sort. The “Available Preferences” tab will display all the possible program+college combinations that the candidate can choose from. Furthermore, candidates can use the “Advanced Filter” option available at the top to filter by colleges as well as programs. The candidate has to select and sort the preferences as per his/her choice. The order of preference will also be determined by the order of selection. Candidates can use the “Top, Bottom & Preference Number” icons to re-arrange their preferences. Then the final order of preferences as filled and saved by the candidate will appear in the “Selected Preferences” tab. Once satisfied with the order of preference, the candidate has to save the changes under “Save Changes” to fill in his/her preferences. The preferences saved by the candidates will determine the allotment and admission of the candidates.

University has advised the candidates to choose the maximum preferences offered by the candidates seeking admission. Programs and colleges will not be allowed to add/delete/edit after the second phase is over.

DU Admission schedule:

The correction window for candidates already registered in Phase I of CSAS will open from Monday, July 17 to Thursday, July 20, 2023 up to 04:59 PM. The preferences for Programs and Colleges in CSAS can be filled from Monday, July 17 to Monday, July 24, 2023 at 04:59 PM and on Thursday, July 27 at 05:00 PM, CSAS will auto-lock the preferences. The simulated list will be announced on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 05:00 PM.

Support for prospective students

The Admissions Branch of DU has also set up a helpdesk, chat-bot and email facility to help the prospective students with their queries. Helpdesks have also been set up in various colleges for the convenience of the students. Complete details are available on the University's admission website http://admission.uod.ac.in. A series of webinars will also be organized by the Admission Branch from Friday, July 21, 2023 to help candidates with the admission process. The Webinar will be telecast live on the official YouTube channel of the University: UnivofDelhi. Candidates are advised by the University of Delhi to read the Undergraduate Bulletin of Information 2023 and CSAS 2023 rules carefully and keep visiting the admission website of the University regularly for all updates.
