DU Ranks 1st Among Central Universities in India in QS World University Rankings 2025
In the global context, DU has made a substantial improvement, rising from the 407th position last year to 328th this year, placing it in the top 22% of universities worldwide.
The University of Delhi (DU) has achieved a remarkable milestone in the QS World University Rankings 2025, securing the 1st position among central universities in India. This significant leap sees DU climbing to the 7th position nationwide, an improvement from the 9th position last year.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh announced that DU has made the highest progress among the top 10 institutions from India, moving up by 79 ranks. He congratulated the entire DU community for their collective efforts and contributions to the university's academic environment and nation-building.
In the global context, DU has made a substantial improvement, rising from the 407th position last year to 328th this year, placing it in the top 22% of universities worldwide. The university performed exceptionally well in several indicators, ranking 44th in Employment Outcomes, 220th in Sustainability, 225th in Academic Reputation, and 269th in Employer Reputation.
Among Indian institutions, DU ranked 1st in Employment Outcomes and Sustainability, 3rd in International Research Network, 5th in Academic Reputation, and 8th in Employer Reputation. The university improved in five of the nine performance indicators, including Sustainability, Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, International Research Network, and Citations per Faculty.
Prof. Singh attributed this success to the dedication of faculty members and students, whose contributions have propelled DU forward in both academic excellence and impactful research.
The QS World University Rankings assess institutions on various metrics, including academic and employer reputations, faculty/student ratios, international research networks, and the social and environmental impacts of universities.
This achievement underscores DU's commitment to academic excellence and its growing influence on the global stage.
