DU’s Vocational Studies College Teachers urge President to intervene in corruption cases
The teachers have requested the President of India to intervene as according to them, Dr Dagar is influencing the inquiry process and he should be sent on leave.
Several teachers of the College of Vocational Studies, University of Delhi have written to the President of India requesting to intervene in the alleged corruption in CVS.
The teachers have alleged that the Principal of the college Dr Inderjeet Dagar has been found guilty by several independent agencies including the Justice Dhingra report, three members committee report and a special audit.
“He was sent on forced leave in January 2022 till the completion of the final inquiry. Meanwhile, Dr Sangeet Ragi was appointed as a new chairman of CVS and he started trying to reinstate and rehabilitate Dr Dagar on the frivolous ground,” reads the letter sent to the President of India.
It has stated that in October 2022 he reinstated Dr Dagar by seeking a legal opinion from a self-appointed lawyer. The letter states: “He also forged the minutes of the last GB meeting by adding that he is authorised to close the ongoing high-level inquiry again by seeking legal opinion. Teachers claimed that Dr Ragi is flouting all the rules and regulations and eyeing corruption in the recruitment process of the teachers and non-teaching. This has also happened in the past when Dr Dagar recruited the relatives of the GB Chairman just to take favour in corruption cases.”
Teachers have also expressed their surprise that the university administration is ignoring the zero-tolerance policy against corruption by the Prime Minister of India.
It states: “They are anticipating some big scam else no authority can provide this much support to a proven corrupt Principal. They have requested the President to intervene in this matter and teach a lesson to the protectors of corruption. The tenure of the current Chairman of the Governing Body Prof. Ragi should not be extended as his one-point agenda is to flout all norms in order to help the accused Dr Inderjeet Dagar.”
The teachers have requested President to intervene as according to them, Dr Dagar is influencing the inquiry process and should be sent on leave. They have also demanded that the said GB meeting on 13th March must be postponed till the appointment of a new Chairman and Officiating Principal.
