The Culture Council has shortlisted 18 nodal centres with 15 colleges and three departments and has mailed all the concerned embassies and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) to coordinate with them. Each nodal centre has been assigned one country from the G-20 countries as per DU.
The University Of Delhi (DU) is all set to host an inaugural meeting of cultural-cum-academic activities regarding the G20 summit. To celebrate India's presidency in G20 the DU culture council will organise programmes in various colleges and departments from August 28 to November 29. The DU vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh in his address at the inaugural meeting said, βAt present, the biggest problem facing the world is climate change. But, if we try to find a solution to this, then there is a solution in the Indian tradition of knowledge (Bhartiya Gyan Parampara) only.β
βDue to Bhartiya Gyan Parampara, India used to have a growth rate of 36% in ancient times. At that time when India was a rich country, we did not destroy our forests, rivers, and our environment. This is a real example of sustainable developmentβ further added Singh. The vice chancellor presented G20 flags to all the nodal centres. According to the university, the annual report of the culture council was also released on the occasion.
