Delhi University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Yogesh Singh, emphasized the significance of Hindi as India's language and the language of its people during the launch of the book "Vidroh ke Kavi: Nirala." He underscored that Hindi has consistently served to unify rather than divide the nation.
Prof. Yogesh Singh said that Hindi is the language of India and it is the language of the people. The language of the people does not need anyone's favour.
In his address as the chief guest, Professor Yogesh Singh highlighted that Hindi embodies the essence of India and its populace. He stressed that a language spoken by the people doesn't seek validation from anyone.
Reflecting on the outspokenness and fearlessness of Suryakant Tripathi 'Nirala,' Professor Yogesh Singh stated the contemporary necessity for individuals akin to Nirala in the 21st century. He referenced Nirala's conflicts with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi due to his deep affection for Hindi.
Emphasizing further on the significance of Nirala, Professor Yogesh Singh portrayed him not merely as a rebel poet but as a figure embodying action, discipline, tolerance, and justice.
Citing lines from Nirala's poem "Bhikshuk," the Vice Chancellor lauded the poet's compassionate spirit. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative of providing free food to 80 crore people, eradicating hunger as a critical issue. He expressed the government's commitment to combating poverty to ensure that no one in the 21st century is compelled to compose verses on hunger akin to Nirala's.
