IGNOU signs MoU to offer programmes for Agniveers; Check details here

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force. The collaboration has taken place to facilitate recognition of in-service skill education/training of Agniveers and award of skill-based Bachelor’s Degrees.

Under this scheme, the Open University is offering various academic programmes such as  BAAS: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills), BAASTM: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills), Tourism Management BAASMSME: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills), MSME BCOMAS (Bachelor of Commerce (Applied Skills), BSCAS: Bachelor of Science (Applied Skills).

Candidates applying for admission in BA/B.Com must have a valid 10+2 passing certificate or its equivalent. For B.Sc. the eligibility is 10+2 in science stream.

In order to get the bachelor’s degree from IGNOU under this scheme, Agniveers have to successfully complete the skill component imparted by the IA/IN/IAF (60 credits) as well as the courses under IGNOU component (60 credits), said IGNOU.

Meanwhile, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the application deadline for re-registration again. Now, the last date to apply for the online submission of re-registration of forms for July 2023 is July 31. Earlier, the last date to apply online for the July 2023 session was July 15. Initially, the deadline was June 30. This is the third time the varsity has extended the deadline to register. The July 2023 Re-Registration was commenced on the Samarth portal on May 8, 2023. Students can register online for admission to different undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) degree programmes, postgraduate certificate (PG certificate), postgraduate diploma (PGD), certificate and diploma programmes for the July 2023 session at onlinerr.ignou.ac.in. Candidates already enrolled in IGNOU courses, can re-register and make the online payment with the usernames and passwords.
