JNU's 7th Convocation Set to Honour Over 800 PhD Scholars with Degrees Tomorrow

JNU Convocation 2024: The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is set to organise its 7th convocation ceremony on February 2 to celebrate the academic accomplishments of the 2023-24 batch. JNU convocation will witness the awarding of PhD degrees to over 800 distinguished students, acknowledging their hard work and dedication towards their Ph.D. studies for the academic year 2023-24.
Also, a mandatory rehearsal was held in the AICTE auditorium today on February 1, 2024, at around 10 AM. All University officials, Deans, and Chairpersons of schools had to attend rehearsal.
Highlighting the significance of this event, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will grace the ceremony as the chief guest, adding a layer of honour and recognition to the proceedings. JNU convocation 2024 stands as a testament to the students' academic journey.
The event will also be attended by Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan as the guest of honour. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Chancellor Kanwal Sibal and Vice-Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit will lead the ceremony on this occasion. The ceremony will be hosted at the All India Council for Technical Education auditorium.
JNU Convocation 2024 Academic Costumes
All dignitaries including Deans, Chairpersons, supervisors (faculty) and graduands are required to come in prescribed dress as mentioned below:
- Males have to wear a White kurta, and pyjama and females have to wear a white saree with a border or white kurta, salwar/churidar
- The graduates will be provided a dupatta
- No graduates will be allowed to attend the JNU convocation ceremony in a dress other than
- All University authorities and awardees are required to come in formal footwear to attend the ceremony.
