DU new fee structure 2024 will include fee hike in UG and PG courses such as BTech, Law, PhD and other courses including a 3.7% increase in Delhi University BTech fees from INR 2.16 Lakh to INR 2.24 Lakh.

DU Fees 2024

Delhi University (DU) has notified a routine fee hike for various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses starting from the new session. The university has cited a DU fees hike 2024 as a standard annual practice. Besides, DU has further notified that the increase in DU fees would not overly burden students from the lower-income group.

The university has said that every year an increase of 5-6 per cent is raised in the DU fees; which, however, is not an extreme topic of concern. Besides, fee waivers are provided for students, studying in BTech programmes, whose parent's income lies under certain categories, as reported by TOI.

DU BTech Fee Hiked By 3.7%

The Delhi University BTech fee has been increased by 3.7%, where the first-year fee increased from INR 2.16 lakh to INR 2.24 Lakh.

DU Integrated LLB Fee Hiked by 5%

Delhi University's five-year law programme would have a 5% hike. The earlier fee was INR 1.9 Lakh which now will be increased to INR 1.99 lakh.

Besides, PhD courses will have approximately a 60% jump from INR 4,450 to INR 7,130.

Reportedly, the Teacher and Executive Council members have opposed these hikes stating that the DU fee hike 2024 has been made in order to compensate for loan repayments from the Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA).

Meanwhile, international students will also encounter fee hikes in several programmes. However, students will be eligible to get discounted fees if enrolling in DU's MA Hindu Studies programme.
