UGC directs central universities to use CUET score for UG admissions
NTA in a public notice announced, that the CUET will provide a single-window opportunity to students seeking admission in any central university across the country. The CUET (UG) -2022 will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) Mode, it said.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed the Vice-Chancellors of all the central universities and colleges across the country to use Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores to give admission to students in the undergraduate programmes. Earlier, UGC Chairman M Jagadesg Kumar during a media interaction had announced that CUET scores, and not class 12 scores, will be mandatory for admission to 45 central universities.
However, Central Universities will be given the option to fix their minimum elgibility criteria. Kumar tweeted, "Today we have written to the VCs, Directors, and Principals of all Universities and Colleges to use CUET scores for admissions in their UG programs because with CUET in place there is no need for students to worry about writing multiple entrance tests.".
The state universities, private universities, and deemed-to-be universities can also use CUET scores for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions if they want, the UGC chairman had said earlier.
CUET 2022 Application process begins
Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency has announced that the application process for the CUET for undergraduate courses in central universities will begin from April 2. CUET 2022 Exam Structure
The CUET 2022 will consist of four sections, namely:

Section IA – 13 languages

Section IB – 19 languages

Section II – 27 Domain-Specific Tests

Section III – General Test
According to NTA, choosing options from each Section is not mandatory. Choices should match the requirements of the desired University.
