IIIT Agartala student grabs INR 1.15-crore salary package from Amazon
Subham Raj, who has bagged the offer during campus placements, will join Amazon’s office in Berlin in September this year as a software development engineer.
A final-year student pursuing BTech in computer science and engineering at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Agartala has bagged 1.3 lakh euros (INR 1.15 crore) per annum salary package from e-commerce giant Amazon.
As per a statement issued by the institute, Subham Raj, who has bagged the offer from Amazon during campus placements, will join Amazon’s office in Berlin in September this year as a software development engineer.
Subham, 21, who belongs to Kunj Vihar, Argora, Ranchi, is an eighth semester BTech student of IIIT Agartala, which is currently under the mentorship of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala. Subham previously interned with Google in 2021 and was also selected in global competitive drive conducted by Google.
The statement read the students of IIIT Agartala for the 2021-22 academic year received an average annual cost offer of INR 22 lakh. The institute was set up in 2018 in public-private-partnership (PPP) model in accordance with the IIIT Act passed by the then Ministry of Human Resource Development (now Education Ministry) in 2014.
Since IIIT Agartala does not have its own campus, its classes and placements are conducted at NIT Agartala. So, IIIT Agartala students will get campus placements from NIT Agartala. IIIT Agartala offers only BTech programme in computer science and engineering. Not only this, IIIT Agartala shares infrastructure, faculties and curriculum with NIT Agartala. Centre for Career Development (CCD), NIT Agartala also arranges internships for IIIT Agartala students and conducts online workshops, webinars, mock-training/mock interviews through online mode/virtual model.
