IIT Hyderabad exhibits industry-ready technologies ahead of R&D fair
The institute demonstrated seven technologies developed by faculty and students on the institute’s campus at Kandi in Sangareddy district.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad is gearing up to participate in the IinvenTiv, a mega Research & Development Fair scheduled to be held from October 14-15, 2022, on the IIT Delhi premises. All the 23 IITs across the country are going to exhibit their technologies in the programme.
The IIT Hyderabad demonstrated seven technologies developed by faculty and students on the institute’s campus at Kandi in Sangareddy district. Talking about the significance of these technologies for society and industry, IIT Hyderabad Director Prof BS Murty said, “IITH has a strong focus on innovation, and our philosophy is reflected in our motto “Inventing & Innovating in Technologies for Humanity (IITH)”.”
He said, “The demonstration of these seven technologies reflects how aligned our goals are with the concept of thinking globally and acting locally to realise our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision Atma Nirbhar Bharat.” He went on to add, “I am confident that such efforts will exponentially increase in the near future. Our 100 plus startups have already created more than 1,000 jobs and generated more than INR 800 crore of revenue.”
23 IITs to showcase mega Research & Development Fair
The event is aimed at creating holistic awareness around the research and innovation work being done by the 23 IITs and seeking collaborative avenues among state universities and institutes, industry, and the IITs for better development and reach of the innovations at the grass roots level.
The R&D Fair is being organised in commemoration of the 75th year of India’s Independence in line with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. It will showcase projects on diverse areas covering climate change, sustainability, smart city architecture, rural agriculture, affordable healthcare, drone technology, and so on. The objective is to promote innovations in line with the Make in India, and Digital India initiatives, and seek solutions for better reach and scalability of innovations that benefit the masses across regions.
IIT Hyderabad to start BTech in Electrical Engineering
The institute will introduce BTech in Electrical Engineering programme with a focus on IC (Integrated Circuit) design and technology course from this October with an intake of 30 students. This is a first-of-its-kind course that aims to provide end-to-end learning to create an industry-ready workforce.
