During the convocation, 3,637 scholars and students of 2019-20 and 2020-21 batch will be conferred degrees. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) (ISM) Dhanbad will be holding its 41st convocation today; i.e. August 13, 2022. Jharkhand Governor-cum-chancellor of Jharkhand Universities Ramesh Bais will be the chief guest and will be handing over the awards and degrees.
He will be giving the gold medals to students who have topped at different streams including PhD, Mtech, Btech, MBA and other departments. After attending the convocation, the Governor will also be taking part in a national seminar organised by BBMKU on education scenario and relevance of Sanskrit.

A total of 1,978 degrees will be awarded while on the second day, 1,659 degrees will be conferred.
Himanshu Bhushan Sandhibigrah (B. Tech, Electrical Engineering) will be awarded the President’s Gold Medal for the 2019-20 batch, while Ajit Kumar (B. Tech, Computer Science & Engineering) will receive the President’s Gold Medal for 2020-21 batch during the function. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) award would be given to 420 students while 14 students of 2019-20 batch will get a bachelor of engineering (BE) degree. 790 students of 2019-20 sessions and 788 of 2020-21 batch will be given the BTech degree.
34 students of 2019-20 sessions and 20 students of 2020-21 batch will get 5 Year Dual Degree. 56 students of 2019-20 and 62 students of 2020-21 batch will get a Master of Technology (under 5 years integrated programme) degree.A Master of science and technology degree (3 years) would be given to 106 students of 2019-20 batch and 83 students of 2020-21 batch.
