IIT Kanpur selects 15 startups for NIRMAN Accelerator programme
The 15 startups will receive support to accelerate their product journey from lab to market. The best-performing startup from the cohort will also receive a cash award of up to INR 10 lakh and funding support of INR 50 lakh at the end of the programme.
The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), the technology business incubator at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, has announced the cohort of 15 startups under the NIRMAN Accelerator Programme supported by the Department of Science and Technology.
NIRMAN Accelerator Programme
The programme was launched by SIIC on July 21, 2022, for startups in the healthcare and agriculture domain. The programme aims to support manufacturing startups to help them overcome the common challenges across the prototype and market entry phase in the respective domains. After a successful campaign, the programme received 94 applications from startups across India in the listed domains. Of these applications, an internal evaluation committee at SIIC selected a total of 35 startup applications for an external evaluation round. A total of 15 startups in the HealthTech and AgriTech domains made it to the final list of cohort under the programme.
The 15 startups from the cohort under the programme are LCB Fertilizers Private Limited; Saptkrishi Scientific Private Limited; BomLife Private Limited; Polycycling Solutions Private Limited; Surobhi AgroIndustries Private Limited; Primary Healthtech Private Limited; Lenek Technologies Private Limited; Aana Crop Solutions Private Limited; Wander Continental Flyer Private Limited; Climec lab Private Limited; ProPlant Foods Private Limited; Meukron Technologies Private Limited; Xfinito Biodesigns Private Limited; Life and Limb Private Limited and NadiPulse Prognostics Private Limited.
IIT Kanpur Director Prof Abhay Karandikar said, “At IIT Kanpur, maintaining a robust startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem has always been a priority. SIIC has been leading in realising that vision of the institute. This NIRMAN Accelerator Program, supported by DST, caters to two vital sectors – healthcare and agriculture. I believe the programme will expedite the journey from prototype-to-market of startups developing cutting-edge, technology-driven innovations in these critical areas. I congratulate the selected cohort and we are indeed grateful to the Department of Science and Technology for lending us their support to execute this significant programme of critical relevance.”
The 15 startups selected under the cohort will be on-boarded in a six-month-long rigorous programme that will unpack the principles for product growth, engineering acceleration, navigating through the compliances, and leading to the next stage of growth. These startups will receive the necessary support to accelerate their product journey from lab to market under the programme. The best-performing startup from the cohort will also receive a cash award of up to INR 10 lakh and funding support of INR 50 lakh at the end of the programme.
