DRDO introduces online course on artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity
According to the official reports, both the courses are 12-weeks long. DRDO will be conducting classes of two-hour duration for the programme five days a week.
DRDO Admissions 2021: Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, a deemed university and an autonomous organization funded by the department of defence research and development introduce short-term programmes on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity. According to the official reports, both the courses are 12-weeks long. DRDO will be conducting classes of two-hour duration for the programme five days a week. The online entrance test was conducted in order to select suitable candidates. In order to apply for these courses, candidates must be a graduate or have an equivalent level of education. Registration for the test is free of cost. The registration process started on January 28 and concluded on February 15. The course fees for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are Rs 17,700 while the course fee for Cybersecurity is Rs 15000. Interested can apply at the official website, onlinecourse.diat.ac.in. Selected candidates have to pay the course fees after qualifying for the entrance test. The courses commenced on February 28.

Candidates interested in DRDO “short term programme on Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning” must note that the course will include a mix between fundamentals and advanced topics of various domains of AI & ML including probability theory, pattern recognition, big data analytics, computer vision, natural language processing, augmented reality, deep learning and related advancements in the domain. Meanwhile, the “online training and certification course on cybersecurity” will include topics such as forensic and incident response, system programming, reverse engineering and malware analysis, basic and advanced vulnerability analysis, exploit mitigation, and penetration testing followed by the tools and techniques for cybersecurity professionals will be taught.
In order to take admission to the courses, candidates are required to register and crack the entrance test. For both the courses, candidates will have to register for the entrance exam and crack it. The entrance exam will be held on February 20 for the AI, ML course and on February 21 for the cybersecurity course.

- Networking: OSI, TCP/IP, socket programming, win32 socket APIs, server messaging block, application, and ports, TLS/SSL including TLS1.3, Firewalls, UTM, routing protocols, core/edge routers, ASN, IPv4/v6.
System Software: basic knowledge of assembly, x86 instruction set, addressing modes, registers, main memory space. - Data Structures
- Knowledge of programming language C/C++/Java/any Object Oriented language, any one scripting language – php/python/ruby/perl
