BHU CUET 2023 counselling: The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will conduct the counselling process of BHU UET 2023 on the basis of Common Universities Entrance Test 2023 scores. The university will prepare course-wise and category-wise merit lists for BHU UET 2023 counselling process. Candidates who selected BHU as their preferred university will be able to fill admission forms at bhuonline.in. Candidates should note that BHU undergraduate admission counselling does not include Personal Interviews or Group Discussion. Moreover, the candidates need not visit the counselling venue or university in person. The seat allotment process through BHU UET 2023 counselling rounds will be as under:

Step 1: Fill Online Preference Entry Form

Every candidate called for the counselling round needs to fill an online preference entry form. Candidates can access the form on the official website of the university. In the form, a candidate needs to indicate his/ her preference for the following:

  • Honours Subject [Subject Combination]-[for BSc (Hons)]
  • Honours Subject- for BA (Hons)
  • Choice of Course: This preference option is available only if admission is done to more than one course on the basis of merit index/ rank obtained in the Common Test.
  • Preference of location (Faculty/ Department on the Main Campus or RGSC or Affiliated Colleges): This option is available only if a course is offered at more than one location.
  • Seat Type: This option includes the candidate’s choice of the seat with a regular fee-only or paid seat if the regular fee seats are full.

Step 2: Attend the Counselling Session

Next, candidates need to reach the counselling venue as per the prescribed date and time mentioned in the call letter and mark their attendance with the Counseling Centre Incharge. Some of the documents that candidates should carry at the counselling venue are:

At the counselling centre, candidates can discuss with the teachers present at the counselling venue about the available courses, fee structure, hostel availability, etc. In case any candidate wants to change their preference (earlier filled online), he/she can do so at this stage.

  • After the preference entry form is finalised, candidates need to get its printout, sign and submit it along with all other original documents.
  • Finally, the computer will allot seats to candidates in their respective courses on the basis of merit by taking into account their preferences.
  • Once admitted provisionally, candidates can collect their Provisional Admission Letter from the Counseling Centre at 10:00 AM on the next day of counselling. 

Step 3: Pay BHU Admission Fee

After receiving the Provisional Admission Letter, candidates can pay the admission fee of their respective course on the same day.

  • The admission fee can be paid by candidates in online (via credit/ debit card through the payment gateway available on BHU UET portal) or offline (by paying cash at the fee counters of the varsity) mode.
  • Once the fee is paid, candidates need to submit the proof of payment of admission fee at the Counseling Centre latest by 4:00 PM on the next day of the counselling.
  • However, it may be noted that the proof is not required in case of online payment of admission fee, informs the official website.

Candidates need to carry the following documents in original as well as, photocopies for verification in order to fulfill the admission requirements:

  • CUET Scorecard/ Rankcard
  • CUET Admit Card
  • CUET application form
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Migration Certificate, if passed from a university other than BHU
  • Class X Certificate & Mark Sheet
  • Class XII Certificate & Mark Sheet

Q:   How is BHU UET 2023 counselling held?

The counselling of BHU UET 2023 will be conducted by the Admission Committees of the respective departments on the basis of Common Universities Entrance Test 2023 scores. Q:   What is the tie-breaking method for BHU UET 2023 counselling process?

A:
BHU applies tie-breaking method or inter-se merit criteria for resolving ties when two or more candidates obtain same marks/ same rank for a particular course (and under a particular reserved category). The tie-breaking method for BHU UET 2023 merit list is as under: First - The University will give preference to those candidates who have higher aggregate percentage of marks at the Qualifying Examination I. e. Class 12 marks or equivalent examination while preparing merit list of all courses at undergraduate level. However, for admission to B.Sc. And B.Sc. (Hons. ). Ag. The aggregate marks in Science subjects shall only be considered for this purpose. Finally - In case the candidates have equal marks in the above stated Examinations, then the candidate senior in age shall be given preference.

Q:   Is there any age relaxation for admission through BHU UET 2023?

A:
The Banaras Hindu University has provided certain relaxations to candidates, and age limit relaxation is one such relief. As per the eligibility criteria of BHU UET 2023, the candidates are given, "an age relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC/ST and PWD categories and 3 years in upper age limit for candidates belonging to OBC category for admissions in various courses wherever the upper age limit is prescribed. " Apart from this, candidates holding SC/ST caste Certificate do not need to meet minimum marks requirement, which is 40% in the qualifying examination for all other categories. This means, full relaxation in minimum marks has been given to SC/ ST category to be eligible for admission. In addition, "For OBC and PWD candidates there will be a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination in minimum eligibility requirements, in comparison to general category candidates. Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for the BHU UET?

The BHU UET exam is required for admission to some of its courses. The eligibility criteria for the BHU UET vary as per the course. The basic eligibility requirements are: 1. You must have passed the 12th grade for B.A. (Hons), B.Voc B.Sc. and related UG courses. 2. You must have scored 50% in your previous qualifying exam. 3. For courses such as B.Ed you must have done graduate work. 4. You need to have a related subject in 12th grade for a Science course. In addition, for most courses, primary admission is based on the CUET UG exam.
